Paul Blart

Paul Blart is a Mall Cop at the West Orange Pavilion Mall. He was played by Kevin James in Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. He is the main protagonist in both films.

Character Biography[]

Creation[]

Not much is known about Paul's early life, except he went to high school with James Kent and was abused by him; At one particular time, Paul was set on fire by Kent. Paul also allegedly used to eat lunch with an imaginary friend.

Paul had his daughter, Maya with a former illegal immigrant who left him after they married and she got American citizenship. This left him and Maya to live with his mom, Margaret Blart.

Mall Cop 1[]

Paul Blart, 38 years old, has been a mall cop for around 10 years and has applied to be a state trooper once a year for about 7 or 8 years; He has passed the written exam but his hypoglycemia prevents him from passing the physical test. Paul fell in love with a woman named Amy Anderson, who works at a kiosk in the West Orange Pavilion Mall. He temporarily broke their relationship when he accidentally got drunk. On Black Friday, thugs led by Veck Simms took over the mall. They planned to steal millions of dollars from credit card machines at the stores. Paul decided to stop them because Amy and his friends were being used as hostages. He took down the thugs one by one. He almost saves his friends, but is caught by Simms and forced to give up the codes. Simms tries to escape to Cayman Islands with Amy and his daughter Maya. At the end of the movie he gets married to Amy and stays at the mall after being offered a job for the West Orange Police Department.

Mall Cop 2[]

Paul Blart is shown trying to get back to the swing of thing 6 years after he saved the day at the mall in West Orange, NJ. His wife of 6 days leaves him and he loses his Mom unexpectedly, then Paul receives a letter that invites him and his daughter, to Las Vegas, Nevada. He is pulled into action to save his kidnapped daughter from art thieves at the Wynn Hotel and resort.

Medical conditions[]

Paul Blart has hypoglycemia and constantly needs sugar, which can explain his weight problems. He passes out if he doesn't get a certain amount that he needs.

Paul Blart has hypoglycemia and constantly has to have a certain amount of blood sugar. If he has a low amount of blood sugar he will pass out. When Paul is working at the mall, he'll usually have some type of sugary food around for his consumption when his blood sugar is getting low.

In the sequel Paul is the narrator for the beginning of the movie and by the end of the movie.
He loves peanut butter as mentioned by Veck.
After getting drunk from a Margarita that he thought was Lemonade he got two tattoos on his back as he mentions later that he really doesn't drink at all.
